Men dressed as him at Renaissance fairs - not our versions, but actual Fifteenth Century May Day festivals - were prosecuted for it, so potent was his trickster image still, centuries later, and sinister the notion of redistribution of wealth.

For your information, George, Dick Cheney is in my basement as I write this. Sipping chardonnay and looking at gay porn films, of course. Where else did you expect him to be? You were there with him last night! Sheesh.
