Her weavings were perfect, but insulting to the gods,
as they showed them for the asses they could be.
So Athena whomped her upside the head with a shuttle,
killing her dead. Her handiwork was missed though,
so she brought her back as a spider, partly as a lesson,
but mostly just for the entertainment value.
