As a fan of semantics, usage, metaphor, and all that rot, I must question this. How does Domino Key Or dominokey or domin Okey
possibly FOLLOW Okey Dokey?
In my mind (which, of course is always in question), the term Domin as a prefix to Okey suggests, nay, DEMANDS subservience.
I know, I know. Humpty Dumpty and all that. "A word means what I choose it to mean."
That's MY motto, anyway. I've always had a soft place in my heart for the old wall-sitter, as does Alice.
I may very well be scroonching out onto a dangerously thin limb here (crrrrack!), but Domino Key seems somehow oxymoronic with "FOLLOWS Okey Dokey." DOMIN okey should LEAD. Or at least beat Okey a bit. There's Alice again, after her meeting with the Lion and the Unicorn. I do have a thing for her.
Maybe I'm mispronouncing your meaning, and not for the first time. It takes practice, mispronouncing meaning. I should know; I make a habit of the thing.
Dominance, domineering, etcetera. Not to mention Syd Barrett' best song ever, "Astronomy Domine," which I mispronounced for years (decades), saying the last word as 'do-MINE' as opposed to 'DOM-in-EE' as his bandmates have claimed it actually is. Only Syd knows, and he hasn't told me. Not yet anyway.
Maybe I should fold this damned box up and go in search of something more constructive, and not think of subservience and meaning. Or Alice. Yes.
I think I'll go make a drink and watch some English Comedy.
Domino is “God.” Dominokee is a minced oath. Like Gee Whiz, is a bastardization of “Jesus.” Or “Cheese and CRACKERS!!” Is yet another way to cutely swear in the Bible Belt and the Mid-West Corn Belt.
Okee Dokee, Dominokee is like Cockney rhyming slang for “OK, go with God!” It’s said in agreement, but more often in rhyming Farewell.
What’s the difference between an Alligator and a Crocodile? One will see you later; and the other after a while!! 🤪
