Penelope


One hundred and eight is a lot of suitors pitching woo. To put them off, Penelope wove a shroud for her father, telling them she’d make up her mind when it was finished. But nightly dethreading meant it would never get done. Thus, she remained ever faithful to Odysseus while he continued to go gallivanting throughout the Mediterranean.
