Must have been unconscious cuz I had planned a Bob Dobolina at one time. Surprised you remember or in any case know of him. Then again, I know Nancy's records got passed along and handed down.
"Zilch," the song that name comes from, is, I think, from "Headquarters," rumoured to be the only album actually written and performed by The Monkees, an otherwise contrived group. I just tried to sing and play "Randy Scouse Git" last night, with mixed success.
Yeah, they were contrived. Yeah, the Wrecking Crew played all the instruments on the first few albums. But they did most of the singing and came into their own later on as musicians. As long as they're looked upon as a parody, the Monkees were great.
No relation to Mister Dobolina, Mister Bob Dobolina, I'm sure.
