the wrong souvenir

This was supposed to be a snow globe.

The beginning of the last paragraph of "Verdery" from Dangerous Roads. Hopefully soon to be published.

I thought you were going on about it, but no snowglobe.

  2. Huh. I thought that was off the top of my head, but it must've been squirreled away in the recesses of my memory banks. Once again I rob Dub to pay Paul. Paul Missives, that is - the hidden author of these tomes.

  3. Did you ever read "Verdery?" Story about buying a lawnmower in South Carolina. I visited the October Country for an afternoon and came back with a story to tell. I'm perty sure I sent it to you; it has Towanda the Sprawling Girl in it.

And just because I wrote that one line doesn't mean you got it from ME. I'm sure you've had your own experiences with The Wrong Souvenir.

    Or have you?

  4. Of course I read Verdery. Several times. Heard you tell it several more. It's a classic.
