I once almost bought a Saab Sonnet, back in the 70s, it had a Ford V4 engine....
shoulda bought it but it was rare and unknown so I bought an MG Midget instead. What a potato chip. Broke the suspension everytime I hit a slight bump in the road.
Fortunately I had a friend who had reason to trade me his Corvette Coupe for my Midget for a year... what a maroon.
Remember that pitstop in Bloomsberg Pennsylvania to put in a new fuel pump?
I do remember that pitstop. I also remember riding I-80 in the driving rain. A Stingray is a hell of a car in a rainstorm...
I recall the Midget, too, and how it was constantly in the shop. Didn't know you almost bought a Sonett, though. They were cool looking bug-eyed things.
I remember both o' dem cars, too. Was the Vette orange or brown, or is my memory tinged with sepia? That Midget was almost a Corgi Toy, though not quite a Matchbox. Only saw 'em twice; once in Chicago (Midget) and once in Jersey (funeral). Or so I misremember quite well.
