Thedario
It's no small task to be a Jovian moon sovereign, to govern the largely ungovernable Ionian citizenry amid sulphur glass eruptions, plasma dells and radiation storms. But Io's Thedario is up to it. He's the big cheese and he stands alone.

Georgie Porgie
Georgie Porgie was a duke, of Buckingham, no less. And a pretty young duke was he. He went both ways; pudding and pie. King James, Queen Anne, and assorted others, we can presume. He kissed the girls, the boys, made them all cry, because, face it, Georgie was a bastard.
But what are we to make of "When the boys came out to play, Georgie Porgie ran away?" Are the boys Parliament? They did try to impeach Georgie for screwing up a piracy expedition, but he didn't have to run away - the King (Charles I by then) simply dissolved Parliament. Case dismissed.
Nor did he run away at war in France. Sent 4000 of his men to their maker, and would have sent more had not one of his officers done him in.
I have no idea where that running away stuff comes from.

Life On Mars Proven To Exist
This is one among seven photographs released to the public early this week by NASA scientists analyzing soil sample data sent back to earth by the Phoenix Mars Lander. The evidence revealed in this and the other six photographs prove once and for all that highly evolved lifeforms existed on Mars in the not too distant past. Since it is believed the almost humanoid creatures - now turned to stone - dined on the plentiful perchlorate found in the immediate area, the scientists have unofficially dubbed the species "Perchlorian."
It would appear Perchlorians were a lighthearted, if not downright jubilant lot. The hallucinatory effects perchlorates are known to produce here on earth among Chile's Atacameño shamans result in similar countenances.

Robin Hood
An insurgent if there ever was one. A trickster who targeted the gentry. Was he a real person? Perhaps, once. But the legend spawned the tales; no one man could do so much. Men dressed as him at Renaissance fairs - not our versions, but actual Fifteenth Century May Day festivals - were prosecuted for it, so potent was his trickster image still, centuries later, and sinister the notion of redistribution of wealth.
