As for pahoehoe, I find it referred to as ropey or porridgelike. I don't do those even in Hawaii. And aa'aa? I'd suspect you made that one up, but I know better.
Aa aa is, of course, a different lava morphology from pahoehoe. More lumpy and jagged, according to Miss Connie V. when she was a research assistant at the Arkansas Earthquake Center back in '91. She was quite giggly with the terms, I assure you.
And an expert in chert, I'm given to understand. But would she know of pahoe-aa-hoe-aa? It is a jaggedly ropey lava, like lumpy porridge. Classically clastic.
Yes, well, one pyroclast's botroid is another pyroclast's amygdaloid. Touche' mon frer!
