4 Attempts at Songwriting

1.
Some people say that the blues ain't bad,
I don't know cause I never had 'em.
But I sing 'em all the same cause what the hell -
It sure beats shoveling shit for a living.
(Put this to music.)

2.
Rocket ride, rocket ride, won't you give me a lift.
Rocket ride, rocket ride, teach me to shift.
I don't give a shift if you stop or not, cause
I'm an astral traveler and I've got a shot at stardom.
Intergalactic Pub, 3pm Wednesday.
(Hope I get there in time.)

3.
Ooooo - ooooo - ooah, ooooo - ooooo - ooah.
Booop - booop - bah, booop - booop - bah.
Bah - bah - boo - ooh - ah, bah - bah - boo - ooh - ah.
Bit - bit - da - bibbildy - boop - bop - da - bam.
(All rights reserved.)

4.
Strange song you have there,
Never heard one like that before,
Like as if, as if I'd swear,
I'd heard it before somewhere.
(chorus)
God knows,
God knowswhere.
God knows,
But God don't care.
He just don't care.

Some of my own attempts at songwriting; I must have spent almost fifteen minutes at it, and it shows:

Scroodily sniffing the wirdlepig tail,
the wirdlepig tail
the wirdlepig tail
Drippily ripping myself out of jail,
Snippily whipping along.

Okay, that's more of a campfire ditty than a true song.

How's about:

Killing's so easy
Killing's so easy
Killing's so easy
When you enjoy it.

We're all victims
We're all victims
We're all victims
Gargling razors.

Can't wait til I'm dead
Can't wait til I'm dead
Can't wait til I'm dead
It'll feel so good.

Okay, okay, that last one was influenced by the music at Vino's yesterday. It sounded like the old DMZ. But, as often happens, a stray comment, the first song, and the punk'd feel finally led to this.

"Jim Jones Jelly Beans"

Jim Jones jelly beans
I got them
Jim Jones jelly beans
Oh yeah the
Jim Jones jelly beans
Scarf them suckers down.

I feel a swellin' in my belly
I got a swellin' in my belly
A painful swelling in my belly
Suddenly, the pain is gone.

Sky glows electric blue
I feel the earth a turnin'.
All my thoughts, they come unglued
Churnin burnin yearnin; I'm spurnin' all the learnin.

Jim Jones Jelly Beans
Now my eyes are goin funny
Jim Jones Jelly Beans
My nose is gettin' runny.
Jim Jones Jelly Beans
All my muscles begin to seize
Can't breathe, I'm on my knees
*GASP*
Klunk

Such are my offerings this day. Thank you, thank you. Don't forget to tip your waitresses.

Wow wee. That's some mighty powerful lyricking there. You know? I believe we both have The Gift. Maybe we should get together and form a supergroup. We could be the new Simon and Garfish or something.

Oh, yes. We'd be something, all right. Maybe we shouldn't talk about it anymore.

Agreed. The world might not be ready just yet.
